










Rough-in is where a commercial build either gets set up for success or set up for headaches down the road. Get it wrong here and you're looking at costly fixes once the walls are closed. We just wrapped up both the first and second rough-in phases on this commercial build - and it passed inspection.
Here's what we were working with. The underground work required trenching through the slab to get the DWV system - that's drain, waste, and vent - properly laid out and sloped before anything gets covered. You can see the trenches cut cleanly through the floor, with stub-ups positioned exactly where each fixture will land. Every location marked, every pipe placed with purpose.
Above ground, we installed the potable water supply lines along with a dedicated hot water recirculation line. The recirculation system is something a lot of commercial builds overlook, but it makes a real difference - it keeps hot water moving through the loop continuously so there's no waiting for it to arrive at the fixture. For a commercial space with heavy daily use, that matters.
The whole rough-in was coordinated to work within the metal stud framing, running lines through the wall cavities and overhead so everything is clean and out of the way before drywall goes up. Inspection sign-off means we got it right the first time. Walls can go up, and the next trades can move forward without any plumbing holding things up.
This is the kind of groundwork we take seriously on every commercial new construction job. Trim-out comes next, and when the rough-in is done right, that phase goes exactly as planned.
