Had a great experience with Thomas and his helper Matt today. My daughter is buying a house, and as part of our due diligence, we decided to have the plumbing inspected. Thank God we did. The house was built in 1957 and still has the original cast-iron sewer plumbing. The first thing we noticed was that the cleanout cap was completely rusted and seized and couldn't be removed. Thomas diligently worked on it, but unfortunately it couldn't be saved. He replaced it with a newer, code-compliant cleanout cap and did a very clean, professional job. Once the cap was removed and Thomas ran the camera, the problems became pretty obvious. Just four feet from the cleanout, toward the toilets and bathtub, the drain was already restricted with heavy cast-iron scaling. It was clear that the original plumbing has simply outlived its service life. A portion of the sewer line had previously been replaced from the cleanout toward the main sewer, but it turned out to be only about 10 feet of PVC — essentially cast iron/PVC/cast iron. It appears the previous repair was more of a Band-Aid than a solution, because the real problem is the nearly 70-year-old cast iron underneath the house. To reiterate, Gulf Flow Plumbing did a very professional job, took the time to show and explain exactly what we were looking at, and was very reasonably priced. I would absolutely recommend Gulf Flow Plumbing for any plumbing work, and I'm very glad we had them inspect this house before my daughter purchased it.
